John Howard

John Howard founded the San Francisco Starlight Orchestra at his home in October, 1984.  Only 5 members remain from the original S.F.S.O.  John revived the S.F. Starlight Orchestra in 1990 at the request of patron and syncopated music lover, Peter Martin (the founder and benefactor of the quarterly "Starlight Dances" in Mill Valley before he passed away in 1992).  John was an original member of the Black Diamond Jazz Band, a founding member of the Chaos Mountain Boys in 1970, and performed with the Los Angeles Mandolin Orchestra, the Berkeley Mandolin Ensemble, the Santa Fe Opera, and today occasionally with the Cotati Philharmonic.  John performs regularly with the Fourth Street Five Jazz Band and with John Pedone's Continental Trio.   During the day John works as a freelance software developer and is the webmaster for this website.
